First time in Hilton Head and first time here. We were seated right away on a Friday night around 8pm. The restaurant was less than half full which I found strange. We were in a bit of a hurry so we ordered right away, pizza and a penne pasta dish with Italian sausage. I also ordered a glass of wine which arrived AFTER the meal did. The pizza was average but the pasta was fantastic! It was beyond delicious and I could have gone for seconds. Prices were reasonable and the waitstaff were friendly enough. All in all it hit the spot and got us on our way quickly.

Il Carpaccio moved to the former AppleBees location. We expected that the new place will have an improved ambiance and service. Sorry to say, it's gotten worse. Too bright and feels and look like an old fast food cafeteria. Dirty floors, wet tables, old chairs and smelly toilets. But we could be forgiving with the terrible environment and the mediocre service, the part that gave us a bad experience was the rude and unfriendly nature of the owner. If he does not like greeting customers and making them feel comfortable with a little smile or welcome gesture, he should consider another job. We requested to be seated at a larger table and a quieter place, but the owner would hear none of it. Not only our appetizer was 20 min. late, the food was served cold. We thought that we were the only ones who had this bad experience. The people we spoke to, had the same experience and will not go back to this 'unwelcoming / unfriendly place'. There are better ones on the island. MTC Island resident

Wanted to try the new location so made a reservation for Sat. evening. Big mistake! We were seated in a cramped table next to loud diners. We waited nearly 1 hour for our appetizer while diners near us who arrived after we're on their main course. Food was mediocre.

Where do I start? We had reservations at 7:30, we walked in the door and not a single person greeted us until 7:50. We finally were seated, with out menus. Olive oil is now an extra charge to go with bread. We asked 5 times for butter before we got it. We couldn't find our waitress many time, only to see them gathered around talking at the bar. Food wasn't up to par. And the waitress openly told us the kitchen was struggling-- a no-no. My family has been coming to this restaurant for the past 10 years. And service has gone downhill badly since moving to their new location. We will not be returning.

Have been a patron of this restaurant for years, so was interested in trying them in the new location. Menu has not changed a lot, which is fine with me. Food was excellent as always. Service is lacking. They just don't seem to have it together yet. There are two entrances in the new place, but the owner is still the only greeter. We stood around so long that we asked if we were standing at the wrong door. We were told he'd be with us in a minute...twice. We never figured out who our waitress was, but everyone we flagged down seemed glad to help us. I'll go back, hoping they've ironed out the wrinkles.

I have been a long-term patron of Il Carpaccio. My last two visits (one was at the old location, my most recent was at the new one), were, and I hate to say it, disappointing. I will focus on the new one for purposes of my review. The new location is GREAT. Parking is easy, and it is centrally located. Our party was seated immediately. The restaurant is QUITE loud and the atmosphere is 100% different than the old location. White table cloths are gone, cheaper tables in their place. Which may or may not be the goal, but the prices are still reflective of a pricier restaurant. The atmosphere definitely is not. The lights were very bright, patrons were noisy (with children running around) and it was overall too loud to enjoy. There was a woman in a workout bra at the bar, men in tank tops and ripped jeans and other very casually dressed patrons. It is likely that this is because the new location is next to a lower-end hotel and not necessarily indicative of Il Carpaccio's typical clientele. After an inappropriately long wait, our waitress finally arrived to take our drink order. One of us ordered water in addition to her cocktail. The cocktails were very slow to arrive and her water never came. We placed our dinner orders thinking we'd receive a salad like at the old Il Carpaccio in Pineland. We were surprised to see or food arrive (almost too quickly) and no salad. We wish we had known this, as we all would have ordered salads. Note: the waitress had never come back between food order and delivery. We all would have liked another drink by then. When the food arrived, two of us ordered a second cocktail. They never arrived. The food was definitely NOT Il Carpaccio's best. The menu is very extensive, but my meal was bland. Again, didn't see the waitress until the meal was over. She then offered us to-go boxes for our food that remained on our plates while one of our party WAS STILL EATING! It made everyone uncomfortable and he said it was ok, he could be finished. Of course all restaurants moving into a new location experience challenges to work through and I won't cross Il Carpaccio of my list just yet, but pricing was fine when the service and overall atmosphere/experience merited it. Im just not interested in spending a lot of money to dine at a too-bright, loud restaurant with patrons dressed like they belong in Applebees. If the goal of the restaurant is to become more casual and more bustling, it is the owner's prerogative. But if that is the case, the prices should reflect the same.

Since they moved to Museum St., we've been there a few times, sitting at a table once and at the bar otherwise. I have to say the entrees are pretty good by Hilton Head Italian restaurant moderately-priced standards (that is, not by Ombra's standards) -- and that's a good thing, given the fact that so many restaurants here are expensive. Great tiramisu, too. They did an o.k. job refurbishing, although the bar and back-bar could use some TLC. Just one downer: the owner (and host, unfortunately) has absolutely no personality, doesn't make small talk, and seems to lack a customer-service mentality. That may seem like a small detail, but he's constantly bustling around, dressed (appropriately given his personality) in black and it takes a bit of an effort to ignore him and his gloomy countenance. I'd suggest he makes one of his excellent and personable Latina servers a hostess, leaving him free to scuttle about as sort of a senior busboy.

The chicken was superb and the broccoli tender crisp. The service was great as well! No complaints! Loved it!

Pizza

Pizza is a famous Italian dish savored around the world. The entire credit for the popularity of Pizza in the United States goes to the chain of pizzerias all over the country. While the base and the texture of Pizza remains same across the globe, it's the toppings that differs from country to country. In the United States, you will find the top pizzerias serving pizzas with the toppings of mainly beef, bacon, chicken, ham, and sausage for the non-vegetarians. Other than these famous meat options, Pizzas with veg toppings such as mushrooms, pepperonis, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, etc. are also famous in most restaurants in the United States.

Irrespective of your locality, you will find a variety of different restaurants in your cities offering pizzas of all different types. Pizza is hot favorite among people of all ages in the United States. A large size pizza is enough to feed a family of 3 or 4 at large. Pizza is also the most preferred food whenever a group of friends is hanging out together. Pizza gained popularity in the United States after the American soldiers stationed in Italy returned from World War II.

Over the years, different pizzerias in the United States have developed their own respective regional variations. Pizza gained popularity as the iconic dish in the United States in the second half of the 20th century. Whether you prefer thin or thick crust pizza, you can find a pizza of your preference at the best pizza restaurants in your city.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
